Data, dates, times, consumption and tariffs

Data from the n3rgy platform is reported in Universal Time (UTC), meaning it does not reflect changes between GMT and BST. This means every day will have 48 Half Hour readings regardless of whether the UK clocks change or not. Please apply your own appropriate modifications to the times & dates if you would like to visualise using UK Clock times.

Consumption data (kWh or m3) is also reported at the end of each period, so a consumption report associated with 12:00 measures the consumption (of export) of energy associated with the period 11:30 to 12:00.

Tariff (using the every half hour value report) is aligned before consumption data, therefore tariff values with timestamps of 23:30 apply to 23:30 - 00:00 UTC periods. However we are introducing a more advanced option to view more complex tariffs (using the v2 system) which also supports changes in price based on volume of energy consumed. This format will indicated start & end times for tariff periods which will be inclusive (applying to consumption between those times).

It is possible to have both import and export MPANs configured in your meter it is possible to have values in both registers for the same time. This could happen if, for example, you home generates an excess of energy (through solar) during the first 15mins of a period, say 09:00 - 09:15 (therefore export energy to the grid) but you switch your electric show on at 09:15 which consumers your entire solar production plus more electricity from the grid, causing a value to be registered in the consumption (import) register for the same period.

Please note, smart meters do not support tariffs for export rates (feature limitation of the device itself), this information is only held with your export supplier's systems.
